About

Compass Civil Engineering was founded in 2025 by Kennedy Wilson, PE, who now brings more than seven years of experience in civil engineering to every project. He earned his bachelor's degree in civil engineering from UNC Charlotte.

The idea behind Compass started simple: build a small, hands-on firm where clients get a direct line to the person actually doing the design work, instead of a message passed along through layers of project managers and junior staff. That idea grew into a firm built around real relationships — one where every site gets the same level of attention whether it's a five-lot subdivision or a multi-phase commercial development, and where the person you talk to on day one is the same person who sees the project through to permit approval.

What Compass prides itself on most is communication — keeping clients in the loop at every stage and looking out for their interests as if the project were our own. That means catching problems early and coordinating solutions with the client that meet their budget and overall goal for the project.

Good directions from the start.

Send the site address and what you're trying to build, and we'll follow up with next steps.
